Officers investigating a report of sexual assault in South Tyneside have released an image of a man they would like to trace.
Between 8.45pm and 9pm on Thursday, August 29, it was reported that a man had approached two girls in the Masefield Drive area of Biddick Hall.
The offender has then proceeded to lift up one of the girl’s dresses and take a photograph, before fleeing the area on foot.
The girl – aged 12 – was left shaken by the incident which was later reported to police.
A number of enquiries have been ongoing ever since the report was first made, including an extensive trawl of CCTV footage in the area.
Today (Friday) officers have released a photo of a man they would like to trace in connection with the report.
He was believed to have been in the area at the time the incident took place, and may have information which can assist the investigation.
