Northumbria Police: Appeal after an assault at a bar in North Tyneside

Officers investigating a report of an assault in North Tyneside have released an image of a woman they would like to trace.

At around 11pm on Saturday, July 13, at the Head of Steam pub in Tynemouth, it was reported that a man had a glass drink smashed into his face by a woman.

It was reported that a man had a drinking glass smashed into his face by an offender.

The victim sustained serious facial injuries to his chin, lip and nose and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged but he has been left with permanent scars.

The offender is believed to have a Scottish accent and was visiting the area with friends.

Enquiries have been ongoing, and as part of this, police have today (Wednesday) released images of a woman who they would like to identify.

The woman is understood to have been in the area at the time of the incident and could have information which may assist the investigation.

The woman, or anyone who knows who she is, is asked to contact Northumbria Police by sending a DM on social media, using the live chat on the Force website or by going to the https://www.northumbria.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/ page on the website.
