Emergency services are dealing with a fire in Hartlepool.
Cleveland Fire Brigade and Cleveland Police are at the scene of a blaze on Mainsforth Terrace. According to officers at the scene, the incident is a “rubbish fire in an abandoned site”.
Witnesses said firefighters have been pumping water from the mains onBurn Road and crews are using a hose reel to extinguish the flames. They said ramps are being put out for cars to drive over.
A Hartlepool resident said Mainsforth Terrace is cordoned off by two police cars.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Fire Brigade said: “We are currently (15/09/2024) dealing with an incident on Mainsforth Terrace in Hartlepool. Four four engines are in attendance. Smoke can be seen from surrounding areas. Please avoid the area if possible.”
