Officers have released an image of a man they are looking to trace as they investigate a report of assault in Newcastle city centre.
Police received a report that at 2am on Sunday, July 28, the male victim who is in his 40s, was in Grey’s Club, on Grey Street, when he was approached by another man.
The offender then threw the victim to the ground, causing him to break his ankle.
The offender then punched the victim in the face before making off from the scene.
A number of enquiries have been carried out by officers since the report was first made.
Today (Monday), officers have released an image of a man they wish to speak to as part of their investigation.
He was in the area at the time the assault is reported to have taken place and officers believe he may be able to assist with their enquiries.
The man, or anyone who knows who he is, should send Northumbria Police a direct message on social media, use the live chat on the Force website or complete a crime update form.
For those unable to contact the Force via those ways, call 101.
